IDA was founded in 1982 as a non-profit 501-C (3) membership organization dedicated to supporting the efforts of nonfiction filmmakers throughout the United States and the world.

The poems of Rumi, the 13th century mystic Persian poet reached the best selling chart in the Western world. On this journey of discovery we unfold the mysteries of Rumi’s poems and the hidden knowledge behind the ritual of whirling dervishes.
